I’ve been coaching for six years across different age groups, including Valor’s 16U Girls last season. I’m an NCCP Certified Development Coach and a former outside hitter. My background in kinesiology and personal training has helped me bring a foundational and holistic perspective to coaching. I’m looking forward to another year of growth and teamwork with our 17UW athletes!
I played club volleyball and then four years of college at Olds College and NAIT from 2016–2020. I was mainly an outside hitter but also stepped in as a setter when needed. I now work in HR and Labour Relations for a construction company. Away from the court, I’m a new mom with an amazing family, and I like to stay active as much as possible. I love coaching and am looking forward to another great season!
I'm Coach Michael. I'm happy to return to coaching Valor Vanguard this season. As an athlete, I played for the Red Deer College Kings, one of the most decorated collegiate programs in Canada. I earned a silver medal at the 1997 Canada Games and was invited to the Junior National Team. As a coach, I led the 1997 U18 Red Deer College club team to a national gold medal. I’m also a family man with five kids at home, I love food, and I’m also a competitive fantasy football player. I can’t wait to pass on my experience and see how far our team can go this season.
Hello, my name is Coach Raymond! I’ve played volleyball for more than 20 years, competing on varsity teams throughout high school and university. I was honoured to serve as team captain on multiple occasions during those years. Since my third year of high school, I’ve specialized as a Libero. Off the court, I work in the retail industry and am currently pursuing my MBA at the University of Alberta. I’m excited to apply my experience and leadership to help our team excel this year!
