VALOR FURY 13UM

valor volleybal coach

Head Coach | Scott Ruether

I grew up playing club and school volleyball, then spent three years playing at GPRC. More recently, I’ve coached U11 at Apex and helped with Valor’s grassroots teams. I currently work for Edmonton Fire Rescue and love escaping to the mountains whenever I can. I’m excited to foster a love of the game and see our athletes grow this year.

Assistant Coach | Sarah Watson

I played five years of post‑secondary volleyball at GPRC, MRU, and NAIT, winning three ACAC provincial championships. I was named a CCAA All‑Canadian and earned a Second‑Team All‑Star at nationals. I’ve coached two years of high school volleyball at McNally and love combining my competitive experience with teaching. I’m also an ultrasound tech specializing in sports injuries and a proud mom of three. I’m looking forward to continuing the tradition of success with this talented group.

Valor Volleyball Coach

Assistant Coach | Nicole Bagan

I played two years of college volleyball in Grande Prairie, then two years of NCAA volleyball at Cameron University in Oklahoma. I’ve coached club teams in Peace River, as well as elementary and junior high teams. Outside of volleyball, I love spending time with my husband and three kids camping, fishing, and boating. Volleyball has always held a special place in my heart, and the friendships I’ve made through it will last a lifetime. I’m looking forward to sharing my love of volleyball and watching our team thrive.

VALOR SUMMIT 13UW

Head Coach | Ryan Gibb

Coach Ryan here. I played as a middle blocker at the 3A provincial level and have been coaching with Valor for three years—one year as an assistant and two as a head coach. I’m also an NCCP Level 1 certified coach. Away from volleyball, I’m a professional chemist, a licensed fireworks operator, and a dad of four. Hosting international students from Spain, Colombia, Japan, France, and Luxembourg has been another highlight for my family. I look forward to bringing my energy and experience to this year's athletes.

Assistant Coach | Kira Fiveland

Hi, my name is Kira. I’ve been around volleyball my whole life, playing throughout junior high and high school and for Precision Volleyball Club out of Camrose. I’m completing my Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta with the intention of becoming a dentist. I’m excited to be back around the game and look forward to building a great season with our athletes!
