2026 TRYOUT INFORMATION

Our club teams compete under Volleyball Alberta, and have a tryout selection process. Not all athletes who try-out are selected for a team.
 
The selection process is done in 3 phases: re-signing, fall tryouts & winter tryouts.
 
When an athlete is offered a spot on a team, they will receive a Letter of Intent. Read more about the tryout process below.

Phase 1: Re-Signing

Clubs may choose to re-sign athletes from the previous season by offering them a letter of intent.

Early Re-sign Period:
JUN 9-11, 2025: 17-18U athletes

Fall Re-sign Periods:
SEP 2-4th, 2025: 17U-18U athletes
SEP 8-10th, 2025: 15-16U athletes
SEP 15-17th, 2025: 13-14U athletes

Phase 2: Fall Tryouts

Clubs will hold tryouts in September (13U-18U) and November (12U). The dates for these tryouts are posted below.

Tryout Registration Cost: $30

Phase 3: Winter Tryouts

Starting November 30, 2025, this second tryout period will be used to fill any remaining spots.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE:

  • Membership Requirement: All participants will require a valid Volleyball Alberta Membership in Sportlomo: “2026 Youth Development Player – Tryout”. Get yours here.
  • Tryout Cost: $30 due at the time of registration (payable online, or via e-transfer)
    • E-Transfer Instructions:
      1. Complete the full registration process, all the way to the payment step.
      2. Abandon your cart at the payment step.
      3. Send the e-transfer to [email protected], with the athlete’s FULL NAME and AGE GROUP included in the notes.
      4. Valor will process your registration within 24 hours. (You’ll receive a confirmation email to confirm.)
