The 2025 Volleyball Alberta signing and tryout process is structured into three main phases: Re-Signing, Fall Tryouts, and Winter Tryouts.

| Re-signing is optional for clubs and athletes. Here are the re-signing windows: 17U-18U: Sept 3-5 15U-16U: Sept 8-11 13U-14U: Oct 6-9 | Clubs will hold tryouts for unfilled spots on their rosters. Valor will be hosting teams for boys and girls from 12U-17U. The dates for these tryouts are posted on our Tryouts page. | Starting Nov 24, Clubs may host a winter tryout period to fill any remaining spots on their teams. This is optional, and not all clubs/teams will offer Winter Tryouts. |
If you are not currently signed to a team, you may partake in the tryout process listed below. Athletes who are already signed to a club are not eligible to participate in tryouts.
Step 1: Register for Tryouts
Register for Valor tryouts here. Tryout fees are $30 per age group and can be paid via e-transfer or online payment.
Step 2: Purchase Your Membership
Register for a “Youth Development Player – Tryout” Membership through Volleyball Alberta. (Approx. $20)
Please be prepared to provide proof of your membership when you check-in at tryouts.
Step 3: Participate in Tryouts
Arrive at the time provided to you, and participate actively in tryouts.
Ask questions and make sure that the club is the right fit for you.
Step 4: Letter of Intent
If a club wishes to offer you a spot, they will give you a Letter of Intent.
Take the time you need to decide if you’ll accept the offer. Most letters will give a deadline to accept/decline the offer.
Step 5: Signing & Registering to Your Club
Should you receive & accept an offer from Valor, you will return your signed Letter of Intent before the deadline listed. Once you’ve returned your letter, you will be required to upgrade your membership (from Step 2) to a “Competitive Player” membership under Valor Volleyball Club with Volleyball Alberta as soon as possible. (approx. $90)
