COMPETE With Valor

2026-27 TRYOUTS & RECRUITING PROCESS

Our club teams compete under Volleyball Alberta, and have a tryout selection process. Not all athletes who tryout are selected for a team.
 
The selection process is done in 3 phases: “re-signing”, “open commitment” and “tryouts”.
 
When an athlete is offered a spot on a team, they will be asked to sign a Letter of Intent. Read more about the recruiting process here.

Phase 1: Re-Sign Period

Valor will offer re-signs to 13-18U athletes from the previous season. Following this phase, any athletes who re-sign will be posted on our website/socials and we will confirm the number of spots available on each team.

Re-sign Period:
JUNE 8-26

Phase 2: Open Commitment Period

We will hold Open Gyms in June, July and August. Coaches may give offers during this period. Head over to our Open Gym page for all the details.

Open Commitment Period:
JULY 1-AUGUST 23

Phase 3: Fall/Winter Tryouts

Clubs will hold tryouts in August/September for 14U-18U and in November for 12U-13U. Tryout dates & registration will be posted soon.
